I'm talking about a 6 year old Toddlers-in-Tiaras star singing "I'm Sexy and I Know It" at a club.
You just can't make this up.
I believe that reality tv creates hype an that the show gets cut to make the parents look crazy in the show, but this happened. Whether prompted or what it happened. And what does it mean that a six year old knows the concept of "sexy" (which they all very much DO), and WANTS to identify themselves with it. Hello "Forever 21," Peggy Ornstein would say.
Now, one of the main reasons I'm offended is becasue of the song. Its total trash. Let me show you the official video. It speaks for itself.
At least it's banana hammocks instead of the typical women in bikinis....you have to give them at least that much.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand to see parents putting their kids through those child beauty pageants. It introduces innocent kids to mature crap they have no need to be a part of. You set your kids up for disfunction from day one.
Wow haha. I think when people record things like this it's because they think it's cute. There's a little girl who sings Nicki Minaj songs on youtube and she was on Ellen. Yeah she's singing song raunchy stuff but I think it's more for the attention and the compliments about how cute it is. I'm sure her parents aren't focused on the words that this girl is singing. But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that's a good thing!
